Poker Operations Manager
New Version: 1.2

Hey, better late than never, right?

I kind of let this thing go for a while, but I've got my wind again. The new version isn't DRASTICALLY different than the old one, but there are some new features, less errors, and some other things.

For the uninitiated: What is this thing?
Poker operations manager is really a simple tool. It was designed for my favorite poker forum, FlopTurnRiver. Many members there run "Operations" which ultimately are just personal goals to keep them motivated to pursue their goals. This tool is essentially a dynamic signature generator that updates themselves and others on their progress. They come here, enter a couple details, and the graphic updates. Pretty simple.

What is currently functional? Coming in the next series of updates

Updated 03-17-08: In the current version of POM, the following new features have been added and the following bugs fixed:

  • New: Edit the font of your graphic
  • New: The Text on the Graphic now dynamically changes to relate to your goal.
  • The errors that used to generate based on Tournament goals are now fixed.
  • Graphics now bear the URL to this site.
  • The forms are now more streamlined, and only show you the fields you need to fill in for your goal.
  • The forms are now more error proof.

After that initial setup, you can log in and update your progress. Your graphic will then update and the meter that shows your progress toward your goal will fill.

The future of poker operations manager is bright. I'm going to add a lot of new features to the software, including the ability to tweak font sizes, add time limits to goals, link to your personal blogs and operation threads, and more. Also, I am going to allow you to manage multiple operations from one account, and I'm going to allow more than one size of graphic.

I'll be moving the site to its own URL. (No worries... I won't delete your graphics without plenty of notice) and opportunity to upgrade. The site will be located at thinkbigsigs.com, where I intend to extend the functionality here to be useful for things beyond poker, eventually. This means that there will be some legwork to be done for now to upgrade the site. It'll be about a month, I'm guessing, before any exciting changes will happen for you, the users, but rest assured, there's plenty going on in the background.
